michaelocalypse and I just played the longest, dumbest game of Tablero ever. Still, we got to drink all the beer, while watching "Invader Zim" and eating yummy burgers, so it's pretty much a win. Not epic, just a win, a sweet little Strawberry Blonde win. Oh, and that was me getting the win line, though I ran out of beer first. Damn queen's number!

If there are one or more people on your friends list who make your world a better place just because they exist, and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the Internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.

First off, camping was fabulous. The weather was gorgeous, the people awesome... I didn't take count, but including kids, there were probably 30 people that showed up. Nemo had a blast, and only came back with a couple of injuries, nothing major. Pictures will be posted when ever I get around and find the time to do them.
Today is slammin at work, but of course I'm playing catchup since took Friday off. Wednesday, I go to the airport at O'dark thirty in the morning and I fly out to PHL. I am meeting one of my accounts; more of a social call than anything. I'm back at 10:30pm Friday night.
Grammy arrived today to watch the kiddo. we will probably go out to dinner or something tonight.
Saturday, I don't have anything planned, though Grammy will be leaving that day to go home. Sunday is a birthday party for a friend of Nemo's, then afterward, she is off to her dad's for a couple of days.
urgh...

I think it would be good if he got different people involved so the different "instrument" voices were more different... fun.

So Yesterday I was at Crazy's and i went to step down from the patio to use it as a seat and stepped wrong, two very distinct crunching sounds were heard and Crazy asked if he needed to watch the kids while I went to the hospital and with my high pain tolerence and general not liking to seek medical attention unless absolutely necessary. I said no. after a few minutes of occasionally saying Ow, it receded to a dull ache, i proceeded to accompany Sharma on a shopping trip, 1 1/2 hours or so of walking through stores, carrying milk and whatnot. got back there hung out and drove home. I drive with the injured foot it apparently did not like all the switching between pedals because when I got home it was much more swollen and hurt up to my knee. icy hot and ace bandage later and still unable to sleep. Damn. figured if it was broken or sprained it could get worse without medical attention. so yeah finally broke down.
Patrick refused to let me drive myself. wonderful man that he is. and Lista was gracious enough to let him sleep at her place while I was being treated so he got some sleep for work. and luckily with percosets and shadowpuppy on the phone to help distract me until they kicked in. I made it through pretty well and it was just a sprain. got about 4 hours sleep. Now waiting for Group Health pharmacy to open so I can get the information I need to not pay a fortune for my drugs. and I even got a doctors note to play hookie from work today. he offered more but nope.. just today. Luckily I have a desk job.

Thanks to Crow Goddess, Roostur and Ben for helping us out at the last minute with moving big stuff and helping with the moving sale. That rocked! We got most of the large heavy stuff moved. I am going to reserve the trailer again next weekend to move the remaining stuff and move the leftover sale stuff elsewhere. We may need help then also.

As most of you know, James Ryan AKA Shadowolfe has been a major person in my life. one of the few I truly loved and will always love him. but we were unable to be together for various reasons. The most recent one was his recent prison term. While he was with me here in washington, he was accused of sexual inpropriety towards a minor in Cali. this came out about 5 years after the incident reportedly happened, as his Alibi I was unable to be reached but would testify that he could not have been in California when she stated this event occured.
I bring this up, because today I got to hear from him for the first time in years. Heard his voice. Due to the sexual nature of his "crime" he is not able to be near the children, nor can he leave Cali. I of course would not leave my Patrick for him. But I do still and will always have feelings for James, and wish him the best, He has alot of things to work out, and I want those out there to know he is out so they can contact him if they choose. and to assure people that he is innocent regards of anything else they may hear. The timeframe is verified and the accuser had a personal gain if she got him out of the way. It was not something he deserved and has spent the last 5 years in prison paying for it.

Ok, so a link was sent to me to an article which had this video embedded, after mentioning that I'd gone to see The Red Elvises. The video is of a Finnish rock group called The Leningrad Cowboys, doing a very...interesting version of "Sweet Home Alabama", with back-up from the (former) Red Army men's chorus and brass. Wow.
Words absolutely fail me. Silly costumes aside, I think I kinda love it, especially the bass balalaika and a certain bit at the end with the chorus.

hey guys!
so, last you heard, not a whole hell of a lot was going on in my life.. lots of bad.
Then my boss drops the bomb... he's leaving the company in two weeks...
He's the fucking BEST sup I've had in a while. He actually got me on the path to get into training. I've already organized something for next friday. (his last day)
ppl kept pressing for me to be a sup, which, while it's flattering... is NOT where I want to go. If I'd been going for supervisor, I would be there already.
A new position for training opened up, and I put in my application. the position closes on the 28th.
Thought about being a sup very seriously for a couple days, let everyone know that I would be unhappy in that position.
Well.. yesterday, the customers that called in were all nice, the reps that called in were great, and I found out that two of my friends (incl one of the trainers currently) got promotions... this means that there are going to be TWO training positions open!!!!!!
Everybody on the Leads team (my team) says already that I've got the job. it's quite cute. They are all wondering who the new "mom" is going to be once I'm gone. And we met our new sup yesterday. So things are looking up. AND during lunch yesterday.. I got the BEST news EVAR!!! I've been asked to be an assistant trainer for three weeks... STARTING MONDAY!!!!
I took today off like, Tuesday, so I could sleep.. aaaannndd that's what I've done.
Starting August 1, D's going away with Bobbie to Spocon and Worldcon.... this is a BIG opp for him and for Dragondyne Publishing.
and the 8 - 10, Dragondyne Publishing will ALSO be at Dragonflight. We can't afford to do the whole party thing.. but at least we can go demo, and have a booth.
So, life is looking up. I am over my depression, I'm actually thinking about going and dying my hair tonight.... normal colors, of course. I DO still want to be a trainer.

I meet a cute young fella tonight who is 6' 4", and was so excited about my 6' height, that he told me how he doesn't like dating short girls at all, it just feels awkward and wrong.
He's the first tall guy I've met who actively seeks out tall girls! Yay! I was beginning to think that only shorter guys preferred really tall chicks.
Oh, and he really liked me, too. Who knows....
The Red Elvises kicked much ass! ...But we knew that already. The opening band was pretty good, too. They're called The Allnighters, and it was just fast, hard instrumental, two guitars, bass, and drums. Very tight. Got one of their cds, and a cd from the Elvises. Can't wait to listen to them. Such a good show! I'd love to see them do a double-header with Devotchka, maybe even throw in Gogol Bordello for a triple play of Eastern European musical goodness. *gasm*
I looked super-hot tonight. Y'all missed out.
